We recommend that all prospective Ragdoll owners to do their homework and really research the breed before buying a Ragdoll. There is not one good book on the Ragdoll breed alone currently. The following books have great information on the Ragdoll Cat:
Ragdoll Cats - A Complete pet Owner's Manual: Barron's Press, 1999, by Karen Leigh Davis.. This book has several photos of Ragdoll Cats and Kittens. It is soft bound and costs around $7. You can obtain a copy from Barnes and Nobles book stores.
Harper's Illustrated Handbook of Cats: Harper & Row, Publishers. This softbound book was first published in 1985. It sells for about $10.00.
Legacy of the Cat: by Gloria Stephens; Chronicle Books Publishers. This book was first published in 1990, softbound and sells for about $16.95.
The Ultimate Cat Book: by David Taylor; Simon and Schuster Publishers. This book was first published in 1989, hardbound and sells for about $30.
For those of you interested in breeding Ragdolls or any other Pedigreed cat, we recommend Breeding Pedigreed Cats: by Carolyn Vella and John McGonagle, Jr., Howell Book House, Publishers. This book was first published in 1997 and sells for about $26.
Most of these books are still available in book stores. You can go to your local library for a copy. To best match the cat or kitten with your personal preferences in a cat or kitten you should put some research and effort into getting to know what you really want. The internet is a great resource for some wonderful information on Ragdoll cats and kittens.
